Juliette Binoche in tears over Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi – 18 May 2010

French actress Juliette Binoche cries at a pressconference for her new film, Copie Conforme, after learning that the leading Iranian film-maker Jafar Panahi was on hunger strike in prison due to abuse and ill-treatment as well as continuous threats against his family members. Jafar Panahi was on the set of Copie Conforme for a few days. On 1 March 2010, Panahi was arrested togheter with his wife Tahereh Saidi, daughter Solmaz Panahi and 15 of his friends by plainclothes officers and taken to the Evin Prison in Tehran. Most were released 48 hours later but not Jafar.
